After overcoming a serious childhood injury, Mordecai "Three Finger" Brown went on to become one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history. He won 239 games over 14 seasons in the majors, and his career ERA, 2.06, is sixth-best all-time. When Topps released the 1991 Topps Archives set, it was really the first time I had the opportunity to see the 1953 set up close. Beautiful stuff. I still have a few singles from packs I ripped back in 1991.
